Document Verification and the Public Archive

Document verification supports the public archive by identifying which records are released, restricted, superseded, or under review.

A public archive requires more than storage. It requires a system for distinguishing records by status, route, date, issuing body, and public function. Without verification, documents may circulate without context or be cited in unstable forms.

LEFT-P’s verification practice supports correspondence, citation, editorial review, and cooperation with external institutions. It also makes clear which materials are public records and which remain internal or preparatory.

The public archive is therefore not merely retrospective. It is part of the active infrastructure through which theoretical work becomes citable and institutionally accountable.
